I’ve spent the past decade working in the world of Apple, beginning in Calgary in 2014 while completing my undergraduate degree. Over the years, I worked as an Apple Genius helping people navigate technology with clarity, patience, and empathy. My role was never just to fix devices, it was to make sure people actually felt confident and safe using them.
During that time, one issue stood out above everything else: how consistently technology was being used against the people least equipped to defend themselves. I saw the damage firsthand, and realized that real protection comes from education and proactive support, not from reacting after harm is done. Today, beyond the course, I work in-person in Calgary with individuals, social service agencies, senior living facilities, and community organizations, helping the people they serve build the confidence and awareness that makes a lasting difference.
